This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.
I live in Pawtucket, RI. In 1793, Samuel Slater built the first American cotton mill, just a few short minutes from my current home. Due to Slater Mill, and several other mills which sprung up shortly after it, Pawtucket is known as the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. Despite a rich history of American ingenuity, this small city is now a rusted shell of it’s former self. Most of the manufacturing and textile jobs, which were the lifeblood of this community, have been shipped overseas, and the jobs are still bleeding out.
As someone who sees the devastation that sending the majority of our manufacturing overseas has wrought, I try and purchase American made products as much as I can. I am particularly impressed with the commitment that a company called Ramber’s Way has made. They are makers of superfine sustainable worsted wool apparel, which is Made in America, from American farms to American factories. Offering consumers a high quality product, that is both socially and environmentally conscious, and beneficial to our economy.
Perhaps if more companies embraced an approach similar to the one instituted by Rambler’s Way, America would be well on the road to financial security. Communities, such as mine, would once again flourish with production and renovation, rather than suffering a scourge of deterioration and crime.

It will take time for the U.S. to recover from the current economic malaise. We need to create real American jobs. Imported goods are flooding the shelves of even small retailers like gift shops and galleries. American consumer purchases drive two-thirds of our economy so how we choose to spend our money really matters. Let’s make this the year of the American gift.
