Is a Happy Healthy Child Worth 25 Cents?

As a child, I loved running around, investigating the woods near our house and scrapping with my younger brother.  My daughter adores running around, jumping and hanging upside down.  Pretty typical stuff, but not all children are healthy enough to run and  play.

What if the laughter of play is taken from children, not by some nefarious disease, but by a lack of basic nutrients?  What if I told you we could Give Childhood back to children in need for a meager 25 cents a year? Yes, I said 25 cents for a year, that is not a typo.

Vitamin supplementation is a simple and cost-effective way to help give childhood back to at-risk children.  Vitamin Angels has a goal of reaching 40 million high risk children this year, in 50 different countries.  The thought that giving the difference between brewing a cup of coffee at home on just one day, rather than buying a latte, could potentially make a positive life altering difference in over a half dozen young children’s lives is awe inspiring to me.  We can get this in motion by visiting Vitamin Angels Give Childhood to make a donation that will help deliver essential vitamins and minerals to at risk children in need.  Any amount can be donated.

With all the money we spend on luxuries this really puts it in perspective doesn’t it? What a gift for that child and really nothing at all for us to give.

I think everyone should do this. For $0.25 is something we all could do, normally they ask for a ton more money which makes it harder to do, and that is why people detour away I think so quick.

I’m so happy to hear about this. I blogged about it also, and know how important vitamins are for littles!

Isn’t that crazy? What has so little value to us (a quarter) can be life changing for someone else
