Teacup Piggies: Toy Review

My daughter and I received a Teacup Piggies piggie  set , along with a fashion set, for review recently. Teacup Piggies are 6″  miniature versions of real Teacup Pigs, for kids 3-10 years of age.  The Piggies speak over 20 phrases and each comes with its own teacup, accessories &  a birth certificate.   Playsets and fashions for the Teacup Piggies are sold separately. The Piggie we were sent is called Princess.  She is pink and comes with a detachable bow.

Princess says phrases like “Awesome”, “oink oink…I’m going to marry a prince” and “I wanna have a party”.  While the phrases quickly got on my nerves, they didn’t seem to bother my daughter at all.   My little girl has autism and didn’t immediately take to this toy, but has since been caught carrying it around under her arm.  Last night she was pushing the nose to listen to the phrases.

I found Princess with a little peach encrusted on her a few days ago (my daughter is addicted to peaches).  I was surprised how well the toy cleaned up.  When I saw her dirty little face, I thought… I will either not be able to get this off or the flocking will come off, neither happened.  Princess is as good as new.

The playsets look pretty cute too.

Verdict: These are pretty cute for the price, and would make a nice under $20 gift.   A Teacup Piggie starter set is just $12.99.
