On April Fool’s Day, I showed you some of the things I wanted to accomplish in my outdoor space this spring. You may well have thought me a fool to try and tackle as much as I planned by myself, but I’ve managed to make some pretty good progress in the past 4 weeks….
This shade container flower garden is now the focal point of the most recent extension of my flower gardens. The corner it is in is shaded by 6 ft stockade fence on the southern and western sides. I have been quite busy since last I reported on my progress in my yard. As I mentioned last week, my chain link fence has been put out of it’s misery. I picked up a new swing for my daughter at Home Depot, and tightened up the bolts in the swing set, so that is good to go for another year. I also redesigned and enlarged one of my flower gardens, but in doing so sort of created another issue. The added on section cries out for a focal point. I looked at statuary, but anything large enough to make the impact I want is rather pricey, and I don’t want to put in a bird bath, since I don’t have electricity over there, and am not a fan of leaving standing water for mosquitoes to breed in. I have found a solution though.
