This post brought to you by Steel Meister. All opinions are 100% mine.
The holidays are upon us, so like most of you I'm thinking about having my house "guest ready". We have a bit of construction going on, so there is only so much I can do this year, but I'll do what I can, and everyone will hopefully see the "after" by Easter.
I seemed that even after the construction is complete, I'd created a little extra chore for myself. You see, despite several people repeatedly warning me that stainless appliances are a pain in the backside to keep clean, I'm going stainless very shortly (delivery any day now). I do already have a few smaller appliances, such as my microwave which are stainless steel, but they don't have the surface area of something like a fridge.
I was hoping to find a good cleaner, so I'd be prepared when the new appliances with their larger spans of steel to get sticky finger prints on arrive. Lucky for me, the opportunity to try out Steel Meister and share my thoughts with you, came at the perfect time.
Since the Steel Meister reviews I've seen are very positive, I expected it to work well, but I have to say, it worked a bit better than I expected. I was also pleased to see it went on clear, looking like a mist of water, rather than white stuff which had to be buffed off, like I've had to use in several restaurants in the past.
As they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are the results of me cleaning my grungy stainless steel microwave, with Steel Meister cleaner. I insisted it get a few days of extra grunge, to really put the product to the test.
For good measure here is another set of before and after images.
I think it did a great job. Any marks you are seeing are a couple of small scratches, not something on the surface. Not only does Steel Meister do a fine job cleaning up stainless steel, but it's oil-based formula leaves a micro-thin protective layer, which also makes the surface resistant to smudges & fingerprints, so important with my 6 year old daughter around.
Seeing how well Steel Meister has not only cleaned, but helped maintain a clean surface, has taken my concerns about switching to stainless steel away. I now know I will be able to keep these appliances clean for my guests, and as a food blogger, won't have to worry about smudgy dirty appliances in the background.
