Finally, many years past due my house has been painted. The craptastic brown peeling paint is gone. Our house is now sporting a fresh coat of grayish blue. Trust me the first picture does not give the brown paint an ample enough depiction of it’s state of wear. You may notice a stray dot between the upper windows on the after pic. That is a late addition shingle the painter put on for me & will come back to paint when he has a few minutes.
I will be repainting the railing on the stairs. Someone from the crew painted it blue… which seems a bit bizarre to me. I told the contractor to just leave it & I’ll get it later. I haven’t quite decided what color I want it anyway. My light fixtures are a rust brown color selected because my ex & I had planned to paint the house green. They don’t jive with the blue as well, but I may just stick with it rather than trying to paint or replace them. Whatever color they end out, will be what the iron railing gets too.
The painting took two and a half days, and another crew came by for a few hours and added more trim to cover the area exposed when replacement windows were put in.
Now that it is painted, I’m thinking a few small shrubs and flowers are in order.
