With the hectic schedules most parents live these days, most find it very hard to allot time beyond bedtime to read with their children. We all know the importance of sharing books with our children, but sometimes work and other daily realities can get in the way. To make matters even worse, our kids have become so tech savvy that their attention is often harder to capture. MobiStories can be part of the solution to this problem. They are digital books which are read to your children by a narrator.
There are a large selection of stories, appropriate for children in the age groups: 2-6 years, 4-8 years and 6-10 years. These virtual story books can be downloaded right onto your iPhone, iPod (or other “i” device), burnt onto dvd or watched right on your computer. Prices on these tales are just 99 cents for regular stories, and $1.99 for interactive ones, considerably less than a traditional book. The interactive touch screen stories offered by Mobistories for iPhones, iTouch, iPad or touch screen enabled computers, could be a real lifesaver when waiting for appointments with your child, or during long car rides.
For me nothing will completely replace an actual book with pages, but I can see some great uses for tech products like virtual stories. Used as a tool to enhance reading skills and keep kids constructively occupied, they seem like a beneficial idea overall.
