I don’t hire repairmen often. I fancy myself as pretty handy. I’m certainly not shy about tackling DIY projects. When I was a kid, I paid attention when dad was doing carpentry work or fixing the car. When my ex was working on the plumbing or electrical, yours truly was the assistant. Paying attention has paid off for me. Now that I’m single, I handle a good deal of the things to be done around here myself, but some projects are just beyond the scope of my skill set and I have to call in a professional.
One thing I hate about hiring a repairmen is dealing with negotiating pricing as a woman. There is a preconceived notion that women don’t know much about these areas, and are more prone to get taken advantage of when shopping for home repair services. This is where having a third party involved can be helpful. Someone to gather bids from local contractors for the project you need completed, then show you the available options. Friend Trusted does just that, via a free smartphone app.
Friend Trusted is an easy to use app. Just snap a picture or take a quick video of the home repair project you need done, include some basic information and submit. If more information is needed, someone from Friend Trusted will promptly contact you to collect the necessary information. They want your quotes will be accurate. Shortly thereafter, you will start receiving quotes for the work you need done. Getting competitive bids for home repairs has never been easier.
Friend Trusted is a free iPhone app, but I tried it out on my daughter’s iPad and it worked just fine on there. I believe they have an Android version in the works as well, so if that is the platform you use, it is worth checking for.
So the next time home repair projects are too much for you to handle yourself, keep in mind, free negotiating help is available. There’s a neutral third party ready to gather competitive bids for you, right in your phone.

I think I’m going to need something like this when we move, because the area will be completely new to us and we’ll need a “friend trusted” something to find quality workers to fix stuff up!
Our house was built in 1959…needless to say, it needs a lot of repairs. We do many things ourselves, but this would be SO helpful for those things we can’t handle!
You think 1959 is bad, try the 1890′s. That is what I’m dealing with…lol.
Handy app! Fortunately Hubs takes care of everything around here.

what a great app
We’re going to be doing a lot of updates in our next house so this looks perfect to find the right professional.
I love the idea of getting bids instead of calling around.
