Fun Ghoulish Pinterest Halloween Contest!

There is a fun new Pin to Win contest going on right now from Avocados from Mexico. For this contest hosted on Pinterest, entrants simply pin cool Halloween recipes on to a “Ghoulishly Green Halloween" board (at least three of them should come from the Avocados from Mexico site). Obviously, as you can tell from the board title, the recipes that are green are encouraged, but anything that would make a Halloween party awesome will work. The 10 boards with the most combined repins will each win $100. You can keep pinning and promoting your board until October 29th.

I love that by featuring avocado based recipes for the Halloween treats on these boards the options will be healthier than the typical candy and sweets associated with the holiday.

Ghoulishly Green Halloween board example

Here is just one of the great recipes that can be found on the Avocados from Mexico site:

Spookamole

Ingredients:

2 avocados from Mexico, halved, pitted and peeled
1/4 cup minced onion, divided
1 tablespoon chopped jalapeno
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, divided
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup finely chopped plum tomato
2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lime juice

Preparation:

In a medium bowl, place 2 tablespoons of the chopped onion, the chiles, 1 tablespoon of the cilantro and the salt. With the back of a wooden spoon, mash until the mixture becomes a juicy paste. Add avocados; with a fork, coarsely mash avocados; stir to combine with the paste. Fold in the tomatoes, lime juice and remaining onion and cilantro. Serve with tortilla chips, if desired.

Serves: 4

Cook Time: 0 min.

Prep Time: 15 min.

Suggestions: Ripe Hass avocados are almost black and slightly soft when gently pressed. Look for "Mexico" in the sticker for the authentic flavor!
