Dotty, written by Erica S. Perl and illustrated by Julia Denos is a newly released children’s picture book. On the first day of school, Ida brings her imaginary friend “Dotty”. Dotty is a giant spotted creature somewhat resembling a cow, which Ida leads around on a piece of blue string. As the school year goes on, Ida’s schoolmates outgrow their imaginary friends, but Dotty is still there. Will she survive the school year?
Dotty is a fun and whimsical book for chilren, with wonderful colorful illustrations. This would make an excellent choice for kids who are nervous about school, or are having trouble letting go of their own imaginary friend.
Dotty is available at Barnes & Noble, as well as other booksellers nationwide.
Disclosure: While I receive a review copy of the book, all opinions presented here are my own.
