As I had mentioned a few days ago, Cheerios is about to kick off a new initiative to both show appreciation to our military families, and make a considerable donation. The program is called sendCheer, and the specially marked Cheerios boxes that are part of the program will be showing up on store shelves very soon. This is what they look like. My daughter has been on a major Cheerio kick this week, that is why the box is already ripped open in this pic…she was trying to breakin…lol
The initiative is a partnership between cheerios and the USO, and all donations will be going toward helping military families. Each box has a self-addressed postcard printed on it, and $1 will be donated for each postcard sent.
I already cut mine out, wrote my message of thanks, and mailed it. This is such a great way to not just generate a donation, but also send a personal message of thanks to a military family. They also make a sacrifice for our country, not just their loved ones, who are service men and women.
What a wonderful way to teach your children good values and appreciation. Why not have them help with the card… better yet, get a box for each of them to send.
These special Walmart displays, featuring sendCheer Cheerios boxes will be appearing in stores soon, just in time to spread holiday cheer, keep a lookout.
