Over the past couple years I have updated the toilet, sink and shower hardware in our bathroom, but the room still needed a bit of restyling. Those last few touches to make it inviting and user friendly. I made a trip to Target last week to gather stylish new accessories and bathroom linens.
They certainly had some great selections, from designer lines to more basic ones, and every hue in the rainbow. I snagged towels and a new bath rug in aqua blue. With the long nights of winter approaching I thought the lighter color would brighten things up over the brown. The bath rug was the wrong shade for my bath, but they did have a greener shade available, so I will swap it next week, and try that out. The towels were a such great deal, so I am keeping them. They blended pretty well anyway.
I also purchased accessories and a package of Quilted Northern.
Subtle Changes that Work
I was tired of the catch-all basket on the toilet. I had still not gotten a wastebasket, and the soap dispenser was a basic branded one I’d been refilling.
I filled the basket with inexpensive hand towels and washcloths. Grabbed a bronze toned step can for waste, and a bronze foaming soap dispenser.
I had been looking for a bathroom waste can that was small enough to fit in the small space between my toilet and sink cabinet for some time. I wanted bronze to match the plunger & brush canisters on the other side of the toilet. I also wanted one with a cover. This step-can waste basket meets all my requirements with style.
The big hit with my daughter is the foaming dispenser. It calls for 1 part soap to 5 parts water, but I swapped out rosewater for 1 part of the water. She loves the foamy rose scented soap, and has been much more diligent in her hand washing since the change.
With all this talk of style and convenience, the part of our bathroom experience we most overlook is bathroom tissue. I grabbed Quilted Northern during my shopping trip, and love how forgettable it makes that usage. I have to say, the absorbancy of this tissue makes it far easier for my disabled daughter. The less I need to be involved in that activity the better for both of us.
The above items and many many more can be found right at your local Target (or online at Target.com).
