All I Want for Christmas is a Bedroom Makeover

Twitter Moms has yet another great contest going on right now.  This time www.visionbedding.com , is sponsoring a custom bedroom makeover contest.  Whomever posts the the most compelling/creative appeal on “Why I need a bedroom makeover”, will win a $1000 makeover with Vision Bedding products (yes they carry much more than just bedding).  If you would also like to enter, here is the link to do so: http://www.visionbedding.com/BeddingContest.php .

The current sad state of the project

The current sad state of the project

My bedroom could certainly use a makeover.  When we purchased our home several years back, we were well aware that every room in the house needed a full overhaul and got down to work.  About a year before our daughter was born, I removed all the wallpaper, and skim coated the walls in the room we intended to be our bedroom.  My husband and I rejuvenated the tin ceiling. I did the wood trim and he rewired the room.  We bought a lovely ceiling fan/light fixture and some great walnut laminate flooring to cover the nasty tiles, but then things came to a screeching halt.  My husband got injured and I got pregnant.

A combination of lack of funds, injuries, other priorities  and general laziness overtook the project… things started to collect in the room.  The ceiling fan and flooring remain in boxes.  While the future master bedroom lies buried under a plethora of clutter, we are using the unfinished room on the other side of our house to sleep in.  It is rather disheartening to awake to the sight of ugly wallpaper and dingy paint each morning.  Winning this bedroom makeover would kick start the progress and supply the needed decor and bedding to finish this dragged out project.

Vision Bedding’s products would be an excellent match for the design vision I’ve had in mind.  Not only do they carry lovely and unique bedding options, but do custom wall art and fabrics, as well.  It is hard to make out in the picture, but the walls are a muted blue.  I plan on using gold tones, browns and blues in the room, with modern lines to counter the ornateness of the ceiling, trim work and antique pieces that will be used in the room.  Vision Bedding has plenty to choose from in my colors and styles (blue & brown collection , brown florals  and asian inspired).  I’ve already designed a template for an upholstered head board, which I can construct myself, and would utilize Vision Bedding’s custom services to create a unique piece of artwork for above the bed.  Now all I need is to win.

Here are some of the great patterns Vision Bedding carries that would complement my design ideas:

A couple of these great patterns interspersed with solid and textured fabrics, would make the great statement this architecturally interesting room deserves.   I would love to be able to complete this room, as I feel it will be quite stunning once complete.

  1. I think you totally deserve a makeover.

As moms, we seem to put off all of our needs for our family. I am a firm believer that you need a relaxing, clutter free bedroom to rest and rejuvenate in each day. Good luck to you!

    Thanks Kasey,

The whole house looked like the before pics when we started. It’s nice to have the old fixtures & ceilings, but it’s a lot of work.

Good luck. I hope you win
